Simmer Pot Season
•••
Greetings Kindred Spirits!
I get asked about energetic cleansing and protection all the time.
This week, I'm sharing a simple way to cleanse the energy of your home as well as bring in lots of good vibes!
.
Cleansing - Blessings - Protection
Simmer pots have been around for eons and the combination of ingredients is rooted in spiritual tradition.
Here's a little breakdown of the ingredients I chose and the meaning behind my choices:
- Lemon: Clears negativity, brings clarity
- Orange: Success, passion, creativity
- Apple: Healing, good health
- Cinnamon: Antimicrobial, extremely cleansing, abundance & prosperity
- Rosemary: Purification, protection, spirituality
- Black Pepper: Clears blockages, opens third eye
- Star Anise: Good Luck, psychic empowerment
- Bay Leaf: Emotional protection, peace, stress reliever
- Lavender: Divine blessings, spiritual protection
Here’s a simple guide to creating your simmer pot with the ingredients that have spoken to me for this year.
What You’ll Need:
-
Ingredients:
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Orange
- 1 Apple
- 2-3 Cinnamon sticks
- A few sprigs of Rosemary
- 1 teaspoon Whole Black Peppercorns
- 5-6 Star Anise
- 2-3 Bay Leaves
- A handful of Lavender (dried or fresh)
- Water
- A Pot
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Wash the fruits. Slice the lemon, orange and apple, and gather the herbs and spices.
- Combine in the Pot: Place all the ingredients in your pot. You can adjust the quantities based on how fragrant you want your pot to be.
- Add Water: Fill the pot with enough water to cover the ingredients. Leave some space at the top to prevent overflow when it simmers.
- Heat: Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a gentle simmer over low to medium heat. Avoid boiling, as you want to maintain a steady simmer for a longer time.
- Simmer: Let it simmer, adding more water as needed. The longer it simmers, the more aromatic it will become.
- Enjoy: The scents will fill your space, creating a calming atmosphere. You can simmer it for several hours—just keep an eye on the water level.
- Storage: If you have leftovers, let them cool and store them in the fridge for a couple of days. You can reheat them for another round of fragrance!
Feel free to get creative with the ratios and additional ingredients! Enjoy your simmer pot!
